Is it right to teach women to fight on their own? Can the rapist also learn the same tricks. In my opinion the government must imbibe fear in the minds of rapists so they never even think of raping a woman. Training women for self defence shows failure of the government. All people must raise their voice to force government to imbibe fear in the mind of rapists rather than training women in self defence.

Now the government is playing tricks. So called peoples representatives want to place a loophole in the proposed law. "Age for Consent for sex" This is not a valid provision on two accounts. Firstly, people with money power can always make the girl to accept any thing which suits the culprit. Age is not going to serve any purpose to help women who are raped. Secondly, if consent for sex at an age lower than lower age limit for marriage would mean the law accepts sex between any two persons whether married or unmarried. This is totally against the religious beliefs and social acceptance. The provision should be simple. "Age of the culprit shall not be a consideration for deciding suitable court for the case. All culprits irrespective of age shall be considered equally" This provision should be the part of the law. Some may think that some women would take disadvantage of this provision. However, proving the guilt is the responsibility of the victim. Therefore, I do not think that would raise any obstacle. In spite of this if some body proves my thinking wrong then there is a possibility of making provision for such eventuality. If the government is not in a position to find a solution the same may be invited from women's organisations and general public.
