Convictions of Swami Vivekanada and his Messages:

Swami Vevekananda

स्वामी विवेकानंदजी के १५ अनमोल विचार
I confess I have not read much on Swami Vivekananda except a few stories read during childhood and a book published by Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture Gol Park, Kolkata 700029 with title "My India, The India Eternal, Swami Vivekananda", thirteenth reprint Dec 2010. After reading and studying this book I understood passion of Swamiji for India and men (This includes women, the word is used as parallel to Purusha in Sanskrit). He is a different from others in this respect that is patriotism. Although Swamiji constrained himself to nationality his love for mankind is universal. What I understood that he believed in universal and eternal religion practiced in 2 parts that is scripture as explained in Vedanta (Vedas, Upanishads, and Shritis) and rituals as explained in Smritis, Puranas and traditions.

India: Vision of Swami Vivekananda:

Swamiji had great understanding and vision for India. He says Indian culture is not only the oldest but the best in the world. His vision was Indian culture is the best in the universe. The only lacuna he found was "restricted education" He used to profess that let each and every person be educated in a right way. Every person must be pure in both mind and body. We have a lot to learn from westerners. However, we have a lot to give to them. Our strength is our culture. We must not loose our culture. India shall be equal to any of the countries in the world. He had no thought of superiority over others or inferior to any one. Just all are equal. Swamiji didn't bring any new philosophy. He just invited attention of the people to the ancient Indian philosophy with illustrations. Swamiji has given many examples of his time. I am afraid I may not place examples here, else this article would be too lengthy to read.

Incredible Man: Mahatma Gandhi:

If I am asked to write 5 names of the greatest men during last 5000 years in India, I will start from Rama, Krishna, Gautam Buddha, Chhatrapati Shivaji and Mahatma Gandhi. Where as Rama, Krishna, Shivaji used muscle power, Buddha and Gandhi used ethical power.

Mahatma Gandhi's CHARAKHA (Spinning Wheel):

Mahatma Gandhi understood meaning of Charakha the way entirely different from what we practice today. Charakha had been a symbol of offering work in every person's home. Charakha offered work to every person. Charakha ensured that every one is employed. Charakha showed self-sufficiency.

Mahatma Gandhi's Ammunition Factory:

Mahatma Gandhi developed his ammunition based on Indian philosophy to fight the mighty English empire ruling almost the entire world during 19th and 20th century. He manufactured 3 basic weapons viz 'Protest', 'Non-cooperation', and 'Fasting'. This had been packaged In 'Satyagraha' i. e. demand for truth.
