Statistic shows that in India percentage wise arranged marriages are more successful than love marriages. Basically the difference is dependent on "adjustment" Possibility of adjustment is more in arranged marriages than in love marriages. Every Indian is taught from childhood that marriage is not only for 1 life time but for 7. Children learn from their parents "How to adjust even if it is against one's mind" Children all over the world never want their parents to separate. They want their parents always together. Therefore, it is necessary that care must be taken before selecting a partner and make him/her partner for life time. Generally it is assumed that "Love at first sight" is the most effective way to choose a life time partner. Now there is a change. "Try and Decide" like trial and error.
In such an arrangement a man and woman leave together without going through the
process of marriage. They think if they find the partner is not suitable then
the partner can be discarded like any other item of use say a vehicle or
gadget. Such an arrangement may be based on other items needed in life. However
there could be more complications than solution. Basically it must be accepted
that no one in this word is perfect, rather not even near to perfect. One has
to accept a partner with his/her characteristics whether likable or otherwise. I
have a suggestion to use modern technology to decide on one's partner. It would
succeed depending on how one is clear about characteristics expected in the
partner and finding whether those exist or not. I am confident that the method
would help but the result would depend on the person using this method.
The method is simple. Make a list what one
wants in his/her partner and grade every friend assigning either
"zero" or "one" for every item of the list. Total marks
obtained by each of the friends and whoever gets highest score is the most
suitable partner among all considered in the grading. Result may not be perfect
and would depend on how meticulously one prepares his/her criteria and grades
every one correctly. Longer the list of criteria and correct knowledge about
every person considered better is a possibility of right result. This is a 2
dimensional model. This can be extended to 3 dimensions or more by further
dividing each of the characteristic in finer characteristics. I will try to illustrate
this through an example. Say "Look" is one of the characteristics.
This can be further divided in to say height, weight, statistics, colour of
skin, eyes, nose, face and alike. This would need a third dimension to the
model. To make it easy for a common man this could be considered as a 2
dimensional model and the grades may be transferred to the basic table for
every friend. Similarly 4-5-6-7 or more dimensional models could be considered
and for simple working grade from one table could be transferred to the next
table just above it. More details may create problems also. Therefore
restricting to 3 dimensional model would be practical.
Let's make a model to find a partner for
marriage. I am considering only a few criteria. Every one interested must make
his/her own table.

Weightage multiplied by marks given by the user is totaled up to find final marks for a candidate. This example shows that Friend 5 is the
most suitable. At the same time it indicates where compromise is needed. Advance
knowledge of +ve and –ve characteristics would make life simpler.
This method of analysis would be found
useful in every walk of life. Decision taken would be scientific and practical.
There may be other points which involves heart may make the decision incorrect.
However, this would be useful at least to short list friends in the example.
Selecting a candidate for voting |
I appeal to all readers to place individual
experience in the form of comments. Those who wish to reveal criteria followed
are welcome. I would suggest at least list of criteria used for various
decisions should be included in the comments. The experience shall be
guidelines for others. Please don't forget to try and place your experience
here. Thank you for reading this. I would be grateful to those who would follow
and place results with other connected information here.

The method suggested in this article is illustration of laws of management. This is a simple and effective method for use by a common man and still confident to find the best. The immediate use could be by the matrimony websites. They have data regarding age/birth date, horoscope match, height, weight, religion, caste, sub caste, nationality, country/state/city of residence, educational qualifications, employment, hobbies, skills, description of person and expectations about partner. Some more criteria may be added based on suggestions of the users. Matrimony site should provide online Excel work sheet for entering and storing data. User may select weightage for each of the criterion and give marks to the prospective partners. Software on the website should automatically do calculations and place results in the last row. Space for 5 prospective partners many be adequate. When 6th prospective partner is to be judged, new data should be overwritten in the place for earlier candidate. I had suggested this to the blog writer. He informed that this method may be copied by any one and no fees would be charged. However, mention of the blog should be made in the work. I will suggest wherever, a choice is to be made from available candidates this would give the best choice available. During elections this method would encourage voters to vote.
